I traveled to Woodridge, NY to the Beis Hachaim of Chesed Shel Emes and had the honor of participating in the קידוש בית החיים ceremony. This is the special process where a new section of the cemetery is prepared for the burial of מת מצוה—those with no one else to care for them.
It’s a deeply moving and holy moment, representing the highest form of חסד של אמת, true kindness without expecting anything in return. Being part of establishing a new resting place for future נשמות was a humbling and unforgettable experience.
